To honor Aspen Institute Lifetime Trustee and retired U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the Justice & Society Program created the Sandra Day O’Connor Conversation series. This four-year series brings distinguished speakers to Aspen to discuss topics that the Justice cares so much about, including civic education, judicial independence, and promotion of the rule of law internationally. The 2018 O’Connor Conversation featured journalist, historian, and author Evan Thomas, who is currently working on a biography of Justice O’Connor.
